National Signing Day is just around the corner. Next Wednesday (Feb. 1) some of the top high school players here locally and around the country will shape the future of college football with the stroke of a pen. Here's an update on a pair of top local prospects:
Alaric Williams - Southside RB
WEAC-TV24 will be at signing ceremonies around the local area but one local star will not hold a big party on the big day. Southside running back Alaric Williams committed to Auburn over a year ago and says he is still solid with the Tigers. Coach Ron Daugherty told TV24 on Wednesday that Williams is still expected to sign will Auburn, but he will hold off on the celebration and instead he will be apart of the school’s big signing ceremony that honors all athletes headed to the next level later in the spring.
Brett Houston - Oxford Center
Oxford center Brett Houston made his college decision public on Thursday. The senior announced he's committed to West Alabama via Twitter. Houston was the leader of the Yellow Jacket offensive line that paved the way for an outstanding 10-1 season. Houston will officially sign will the Tigers on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
