An organization is collecting water for a northern state in need. The people at the Boys and Girls Club of East Alabama have not forgotten about the drinking water crisis in Flint, Michigan. The issue began in April 2014 when officials noticed the water had culminated with lead contamination. The goal for the Boys and Girls Club was to collect one-thousand bottles from all over the region. Lincoln location Director, Shelia Elston says the program has brought so many people together for a great cause. The Boys and Girls Club will continue accepting water throughout February. The water will be taking to Flint, Michigan during spring break in March. You can leave donations at any of their eight locations in the area.
