Congressman Against the Release of Prisoner

Congressman Mike Rogers is taking aim at President Obama’s decision to commute the remainder of the sentence for federal prison inmate Chelsea Manning. The former Army soldier, who identifies as transgender, is also known as Bradley Manning. Manning is set for release in May after serving just four years of a 35 year sentence. Manning was serving time for leaking classified documents while serving as an intelligence analyst in Iraq.  Congressman Rogers, a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee voiced his opposition to the decision today on the House floor. Rogers ended his speech by saying- quote- “Change has come to America, Mr. Speaker.  Manning and our other enemies should be on notice.”
