FDA Clears Blue Bell Plant

Tuesday, February 7, 2017

A Food and Drug Administration inspection has concluded that traces of listeria found in two Blue Bell Creameries brands recalled last year did not come from within the company. According to a letter delivered to Aspen Hills Incorporated in Iowa, the FDA inspectors found the presence of listeria during a plant inspection in 2016. The company announced at the time the listeria threat came from cookie dough produced by Aspen Hills. It is rumored that Aspen Hills will be closing its doors.
