Nomination for Sessions Confirmed

Thursday, February 9, 2017

It’s official, Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama will serve as President Trump’s U.S. Attorney General. The nomination was confirmed today on a near party-line vote of 52 to 47. No Republicans voted against their colleague- who will now become the country’s top cop. Sessions, a vocal conservative, has served two decades in the Senate. Governor Robert Bentley must now appoint someone to fill Sessions’ Senate seat until a special election is held.
