A group of people in Calhoun County have formed a committee to give Veterans a trip to remember. The Calhoun County Honor Flight program is planning a one-day trip to Washington D.C. for World War two, Korean War and Vietnam Veterans. Honor Flight’s mission is to pay tribute to and thank the veterans of Northeast Alabama by providing them a safe and memorable experience. Honor Flight Representative Mike Abrams says it’s a trip of a lifetime. The trip has been made free for Veterans due to the donations of many businesses. The Honor Flight Program has planned the trip for April 10th and 11th. During the trip the veterans will visit memorials and monuments that honor the soldiers that fought for their country. There are currently 99 Veterans who will be traveling; however, the Honor Flight program is still accepting applications.
