Calhoun County Schools has named its employee of the month for January. The employee is Ohatchee High School History teacher Kendall Poe. Along with teaching history to 10th and 11th graders, she coaches softball and volleyball. She is a Jacksonville State University graduate and has been teaching at Ohatchee for the past four years. Poe says her students are the best part of the day. Poe takes pride in her job in the classroom, on the field and on the court. Ohatchee Principal Bobby Tittle says she goes above and beyond. Poe also says she loves seeing her students and players grow throughout the year. Science teacher Lindy Mange says Poe is always there to help someone in need. Poe says she wants to be teaching and coaching as long as she possibly can.
