Local Burglary Suspect Shot After GA Break-in

Saturday, February 18, 2017

Authorities believe a man shot during an attempted break-in at a Georgia business- is the same man wanted for multiple burglaries in Calhoun County. Carroll County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a business alarm Thursday near the Alabama state line. They found suspect Thomas Dodson at the scene. Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade says a Georgia deputy shot Dodson inside the suspect's vehicle during a scuffle. A search warrant was executed at Dodson's Calhoun County Home and guns from the Highway 144 Pawn Shop break-In were recovered. Sheriff Wade says Dodson was the suspect they’d been looking for in connection to another burglary that occurred on Choccolocco Road. Dodson is being treated at a Georgia hospital.
