Two people are in custody on drug charges following a house fire in Cherokee County. Cedar Bluff Fire Chief Shawn Rogers says crews responded to the fire last night on Highway 9 and neighbors told firefighters that a family was still inside. Crews were able to wake a couple and a small child and get them all out of the burning home. Firefighters later discovered what appeared to be an illegal drug operation on the third floor of the home. Cedar Bluff Police and Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested Michael Barger and Juliette Barger. Both are charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and chemical endangerment.
