White Plains Sports Fields Vandalized

People in one community want to know why someone would vandalize a school sports complex. Vandals caused extensive damage Saturday at the White Plains High School softball and football fields. The damage is estimated at about $15,000. The fields were so badly damaged that they are unusable, but Principal Andy Ward says other schools are being flexible with their schedules. Parents and student athletes joined forces Saturday evening to help clear away as much of the damage as they could. Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade says they have suspects in custody. The names and any charges faced by those in custody have not been released. We have that information for you as soon as the sheriff's office makes the information available to us.
