A local high school is preparing to perform a play in honor of one of the most iconic and historical Civil Rights Movements. Over the past several months, the Freedom Riders have earned a tremendous honor with a pair of national park markers in Anniston. The Oxford High School Theatre group has decided to put that history and heartbreak into action. This Thursday, the group of students will perform the Freedom Riders play. Theatre teacher Debbie Braun says the students have learned a lot. Before the play begins Thursday night the author of Freedom Riders, Tom Quinn will be in one of the conference rooms at the Oxford Performing Arts Center to answer questions and discuss the play. Tickets are seven dollars per person.
