Two men have been arrested and charged with vandalizing the White Plains High School football and baseball fields last weekend. Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade identifies the suspects as 21-year-old Daniel Hunter Wheeler and 20-year-old Cody Harris Haynes, both of the White Plains community. Wade says the pair told deputies they had brought all-terrain vehicles to the school fields and drove them around, causing damage to the turf. Wade said one of the suspects rolled his ATV, causing damage to the fence. Both have been charged with criminal mischief in the first degree, and their bonds have been set at $1,000 each. They are scheduled to appear in court April 13. School officials say it will cost $11,040 to repair the damage to the fields and fence.
