An emergency agency hosts a treasure hunt to teach kids preparedness during spring break. The Gadsden Etowah County Emergency Management Agency and Downtown Gadsden held a spring break kids preparedness treasure hunt. Gadsden Police Department, Fire Department and several local businesses joined in by giving the children information and small items that can go into a disaster supply kit. More than 50 kids came to hunt and share what they learned. While kids and parents searched all along Broad Street going from business to business Gadsden Etowah County EMA Director Deborah Gaither says it was a team effort. Gaither also says they are hoping to make this an annual event.
