The demolition of an Anniston landmark is set for later this month. The Model City Building has stood at the northwest corner of 12th and Noble Streets since 1954. The demolition will make way for a proposed 10-million dollar hotel and retail development that the city announced in January. As part of the incentives for the Baton Rouge-based developers, the city will pay for the demolition. Construction is expected to begin this summer and could wrap up next year. The new hotel will create between 40 and 60 jobs.
