Jacksonville Safe Room

Thursday, April 6, 2017

Thanks Chris. This is the most significant weather event since Jacksonville opened its new safe room at the city’s new public safety complex.  When the city built the facility, one of the goals was to have a place for people to go during severe weather.  The safe room will open to anyone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, anytime a tornado watch is issued in Calhoun County. The safe room is located in the public safety complex behind Wal-Mart in Jacksonville.  The only restriction is that no pets are allowed inside the room.
