One city is getting students involved and aware about littering. The City of Lincoln is holding a poster contest for 4th and 5th graders to help bring awareness about littering and how to prevent it. The council has been brainstorming ideas on how to get people involved with several clean up dates coming up this year…and how to get them to use the recycling bins located behind City Hall. Lincoln’s Public Relations Director Tonja (TONYA) Ramey says she got the idea from a statewide organization that’s against littering. Students will design a poster with a cleanup theme, then those posters will be hang in Lincoln City Hall for a week. Council member will choose their favorite, and the student with the best poster will be presented with a certificate by the mayor at the next city council meeting on May 9th.
