Water Bills Rise in Weaver

Thursday, April 13, 2017

A water shortage in Weaver has everyone’s water bills looking a little different. After two of its three water wells crashed, Weaver had to use water from the city of Anniston. During the city council meeting, members voted to add five dollars to residential water bills as part of a 10 year plan. Weaver Mayor Wayne Willis says it’s the best decision for the city. Many Weaver residence say that they believe that as long as the money is going towards helping the city there is no problem. Willis also says that they are hoping to start working on the city's water wells as soon as possible. Weaver water board customers will see the additional charge on July’s bill.
