Bond Lowered For Man Who Shot His Girlfriend

A judge agrees to lower bond for a man arrested for shootings his girlfriend in the head. Thanks for joining us I’m Carl Brady. Michael Levens Jr. was arrested and charged with assaulting Cori Green who was shot in the head while sitting in a vehicle outside of Heroes American Grille. She was taken to UAB where she later died of her injuries. During a preliminary hearing today, Levens' attorney Will Broome argued the bond was too high and should be reduced. Broome told the judge that Levens had just bought a new firearm and he and Green were playing with it in the vehicle when it went off. After hearing his argument, the judge reduced Leven’s bond by half, dropping it to $50,000. There is a possibility this case will make it to the grand jury docket scheduled for next week.
