The man who helped bring down former Alabama Governor Robert Bentley is speaking publicly for the first time about what happened. Former Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Secretary Spencer Collier was cooperating with state and federal investigations into the governor’s office when he says the governor fired him last year. Immediately after that, Collier went public with claims that Bentley used state resources to facilitate a relationship with his political advisor, Rebekah Mason. Those same statements appeared in Bentley’s impeachment report. Collier is now the police Chief of Selma. He’s filed a wrongful termination suit against Bentley.
