A bill that would allow local governments to decide whether restaurants can offer Sunday alcohol sales is now before the Alabama Senate. The House of Representatives approved the bill with a 43 to 25 vote. The measure would allow local county commissions and city councils in areas where alcohol sales are legal to authorize restaurants to begin the sales at 10:30 a.m. on Sundays.
