Saturday, April 29, 2017

A day of celebration has university police on high alert. An anonymous threat in connection to the Jacksonville State University graduation was made and had everyone taking cautionary steps today. Security was in place at the Pete Matthews Coliseum with K-9 units from Vapor Wake training facility in McClellan. Other agencies assisted University Police in taking the necessary precautions to handle all potential threats. President John Beehler said that the university took whatever steps necessary to protect the safety of the students, faculty, staff and guests. All three graduation ceremonies ran smoothly today and more than 700 students received their diplomas.
