Shoppers will soon have access to Facebook, emails, Instagram and more while enjoying downtown Jacksonville. Cable One is now testing equipment to provide Wi-Fi at the Jacksonville square. The plan is to offer free service to everyone during special events that take place downtown. The service could bring more shoppers to the area and make weekend events more successful. Jacksonville Councilman Jimmy Harrell says the city is planning more than just free Wi-Fi. The service is scheduled to be ready by summer. It will be available to Cable One customers at all times and free to the general public during special events.
