Illegal drug use is one of the leading causes of death in the country, and it affects everyone around those who use them. Pastor and Etowah County Detention Chief Deputy Scott Hassell says it is time to stop talking about the growing problem and actually do something about it. Hassell is working with several different organizations and groups to come up with a way to get people who use drugs the help they need. Hassell says the idea is for churches to have aftercare for those who struggle with addiction. Etowah County is the smallest county in the state of Alabama and has more than 400 churches.
