Fort Payne Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
A Fort Payne man is behind bars in Georgia and faces several charges. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says Sheldon Williams was wanted for assault and robbery charges in connection to an incident that occurred in Sand Rock. Floyd County, Georgia authorities found Williams in a convenience store, arrested him and have charged him with Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute, for being a Fugitive from Justice and for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Williams is currently being held in the Floyd County Jail, but will be transported to DeKalb County for a Parole Revocation Warrant and then to Cherokee County where he faces charges of Robbery, Assault, and Theft.
