Local University Spreads The Ward About Mental Illness

A university is spreading the word about mental illness. Jacksonville State Counseling and Disability Support Services held a conference discussing mental health in adults. The symposium focused on current research, advocacy and topics related to mental health and mental wellness. Attendees got the chance to hear keynote speaker and Mental Health Advocate Taylor Wesley talk about mental illness. Nearly a quarter of American adults suffer from mental illness, with depression and anxiety being the most commonly diagnosed disorders.
