Friday, May 26, 2017

Congressman Mike Rogers congratulates the men and women of the Spring Garden Volunteer Fire Department today with a grant of more then $250,000 from the US Department of Homeland Security. Rogers says Cherokee County’s first responders are the first line of defense. The grant is part of a program to award funding directly to fire departments, nonaffiliated EMS organizations and state fire training academies that are unaffiliated with a hospital. This grant will help the Cherokee County fire department purchase a new firefighting truck.
