The Alabama Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force reports a successful conclusion to its two-month participation in a nationwide effort to lock up child predators. The task force, hosted by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, joined other agencies across the country in April to kick off “Operation Broken Heart IV.” The operation’s goal was to spread the importance of Internet safety while arresting as many online child predators as possible. As of today, more than 1,000 suspected child predators have been arrested as a result of the operation. The crimes include distribution of child pornography, enticement of children for sexual purposes, sexual exploitation of children, and traveling abroad for the purpose of abusing foreign children.
