MLB & College Scouts Hold PDP Event In Oxford

Scouts for all 30 Major League Baseball teams and various college programs met at Choccolocco Park in Oxford Tuesday for a special showcase event. The Prospect Development Pipeline (PDP) is sanctioned by the MLB and holds events around the nation.

Around 80 of the top players in the Southeast participated in today’s showcase. The East Coast Pro region features players from Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Florida and Tennessee. The players receive an invite from the pro scouts in order to participate. This is the first time East Alabama has held the event.

The event featured two local players: Oxford’s Brody Syer and Jarin Turner. All of the participants will have the opportunity to show their talent in front of both pro scouts and college coaches and try a chance at making the 25-man roster for a big PDP event in August.
