Five Burglary Suspects Behind Bars

Five people are behind bars in connection to a string of recent burglaries. Justin Bearden of Attalla faces multiple felony burglary and theft charges, as well as illegal possession of a firearm. According to investigators, he had been eluding law enforcement for several weeks. His girlfriend, Kasey Alford of Rainbow City also faces felony burglary and theft charges. Jeffrey Bearden of Altoona and Matthew Bearden of Boaz both are charged with a felony count of hindering prosecution. Jeffery ‘Scott’ Bearden of Atalla is charged with one count of receiving stolen property. The burglaries happened between May 22 and June 2. Sheriff's Deputies have recovered several stolen items, including two ATVs, a 22 caliber rifle, two chainsaws, various power tools, and a Nintendo Wii. The arrests close four burglary cases in Etowah County and one in Cherokee County.
