Former governor Robert Bentley is back to practicing medicine. Before becoming the 53rd governor of Alabama, Bentley was a well-known dermatologist. He began is private practice in 1974 after serving in the US Military. Bentley decided to hang up his lab coat in 2010 to take on politics. Now no longer passing bills he has turned back to medicine. Bentley resigned in April and, as part of a plea deal, he agreed to serve 100 hours of community service as a doctor. At the time of his resignation, Bentley said he hoped to teach medical residents at a family medical program.
