Wednesday, June 28, 2017

The City of Gadsden is restructuring the Industrial Development Authority after more than ten years of research. Using recommendations from the University of Alabama’s Center for Business and Economic Research, the reorganized I.D.A. has six permanent positions. The positions include the President of Gadsden State Community College; the Directors of the Alabama Technology Network of Gadsden, the Gadsden Water Works, and the Gadsden Airport Authority; as well as the superintendents of Gadsden City and Etowah County Schools. According to Mayor Sherman Guyton, the changes should help bring more industrial and commercial businesses to the community.
