Cherokee Co. Ready For Tough Start

Thursday, June 29, 2017

The Cherokee County football team is using opportunities like Tuesday’s 7 on 7 passing camp at Wellborn to get ready for a daunting 2017 schedule. The good news is that they return key playmakers like quarterback Tyren Dupree, but they will be tested from the opening whistle of the year. Cherokee County's first three opponents (Cedartown, Piedmont and Hokes Bluff) won 29 of 39 games last season.

Even if the Warriors do get off to a rough start, they won’t have to look far for inspiration. Last season Cherokee County started 0-2 then reeled off 10 straight victories  and advanced to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs where they fell to Hokes Bluff 28-21.
