Counterfeit Bills Circulating Locally

Thursday, June 29, 2017

Some local banks and businesses have been seeing counterfeit bills lately.  Farmers and Merchants Bank in Piedmont received two 20 dollar bills from a customer last night. If you look closely at this photo, you can see that the serial numbers on both bills are the same. Farmers and Merchants Banks says more people are attempting to use 5 and 10 dollar bills as well.

In a separate case, this man is wanted for trying to pass counterfeit 100 dollar bills. Jacksonville Police say he tried once at the CVS Pharmacy and again at the Dollar General. Investigators needs your help in identifying this man. If you have any information please give them a call or send them a message through Facebook. Most counterfeit bills can be spotted by using a watermark pen.
