Two Women Charged With Chemical Endangerment

Two women are behind bars in connection to chemical endangerment of a child and face other felony charges. Investigators say Brittany Spurling tested postitive for cocaine while pregnant. She also faces felony charges for possession of a forged instrument and warrants with other agencies. In another case Morgane Whitt tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamine while pregnant. Whitt also faces charges for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Both women were taken to the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond. As part of their bonds, Spurling and Whitt must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by Etowah County Community Corrections upon their release.
