After more than 44 years, Calhoun County Administrator Ken Joiner announces his retirement. At the county commission’s meeting on Thursday, Joiner said his last day is September first. Joiner has twice before announced his retirement, but he said those times didn’t work out. His retirement comes as the county faces increasing costs in relation to inmate health at the Calhoun County Jail. The county commission is currently searching for a replacement for Joiner, and they hope to have a list of candidates by mid-summer.
