Two people in Gadsden are behind bars after a motel drug bust. According to the Etowah County Sheriff's Office, drug enforcement agents were investigating Anthony Foster, of Gadsden, after they received information that Foster was selling heroin at a local motel. That’s where agents saw Foster get into a vehicle with another person. When agents approached the vehicle, Foster locked the door and swallowed what the agents believe to be heroin. They arrested Foster along with Amber Machen of Gadsden. They also found a handgun, heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, and pills. While receiving treatment for swallowing the heroin, Foster attempted to escape custody. He now faces multiple drug charges, a resisting arrest charge, and an escape charge. Machen faces a paraphernalia charge.
