A new class of law enforcers are ready to protect the streets. More than 90 officers and deputies graduated from the Northeast Alabama Law Enforcement Academy today. The program is operated by Jacksonville State University. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall says the academy is renowned throughout the state. The graduates completed 13 weeks of training at the academy. From dealing with gangs and cults to handling interpersonal communications, the training covers everything an officer or deputy needs to know when on patrol.
