The Jacksonville Planning Commission approves the rezoning of the Stoney Brook golf property. At a public meeting at City Hall, the commission took comments from local residents, and then voted unanimously to approve the rezoning plans. A local developer, along with engineers from Birmingham, presented their plans for the former golf course. They say 55 new homes are included in the first phase of development, and they plan for about 200 homes total. The rezoning proposal now goes to the Jacksonville City Council, who will vote on it in August.
