A Correction to the Graffiti Reports Story

Thursday, July 27, 2017

We have a correction to a story we aired last night about reports of graffiti in Oxford. We originally reported that racist slurs were spray painted on cars in the city limits, but those cases were actually in the city limits of Anniston. Oxford Police Department Public Information Officer Captain L.G. Owens says they did take reports of blue spray paint on cars in several neighborhoods along with some stop signs in Valleyview subdivision, but no racists slurs were used. Anyone with information about these acts of vandalism is encouraged to call the Oxford Police Department Tip Line at (256) 835-6122.
