Former Cherokee Memory Gardens Owner Faces More Charges
The former owner of Cherokee Memory Gardens of Centre faces more charges in connection to the sale of pre-need burial plots. Authorities arrested John Usry of Centre and charged him with multiple counts of theft by deception. Usry was previously arrested for similar charges on July tenth. Centre Police Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga says there are more than 30 pending cases against Usry involving the sale of of the pre-need burial plots, markers, and grave-sites. Mayorga says two of those pending cases involve sales that took place after the cemetery was closed. Usry is currently out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
