A wanted felon leads authorities on a chase from Leesburg to Gadsden. Benjamin Bridges of Georgia faces multiple charges including attempting to elude, receiving stolen property, and assault. According to Centre Police, loss prevention officers at the Centre Wal-Mart attempted to stop Bridges for shoplifting. While the Police were on the way, Bridges managed to escape. Police spotted Bridges driving into Leesburg. He then led officers on a pursuit down Highway 411 into Gadsden. Authorities finally stopped Bridges just outside of Alabama City. During the pursuit, police say he struck three patrol cars, but no one was injured. Bridges is a wanted felon out of Floyd County Georgia, and he was driving a stolen vehicle. He is currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center.
