Governor Ivey awards nearly 1.8 million in grant funding to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. A news release from the governor says the grant money is set to help enforce traffic laws, provide training, and upgrade equipment. The money is split among six different grants, with the largest grant providing funds for overtime pay for officers enforcing traffic laws during busy travel periods and special enforcement campaigns. Other grants will fund law enforcement at locations with a high number of alcohol crashes, as well as improving drug enforcement.
