Governor Praises First Woman Comptroller of Alabama

Governor Ivey has high praise for the first woman to ever hold the position of comptroller for the state of Alabama. The Alabama Department of Finance selected Dr. Kathleen Baxter as the state comptroller. Baxter was the acting comptroller from January to July. In a press release, Ivey says she appreciates the State Finance director for making the selection. She says Baxter has had a successful career working for Alabama, and now her dedication is being recognized. The state comptroller serves as the chief accountant for the state government.
