30th Annual World's Largest Yard Sale

People from Gadsden all the way to Michigan are set up and offering bargains for the 30th Annual World’s Longest Yard Sale. The Yard Sale, also known as the 127 Yard Sale, spans about 690 miles to Addison, Michigan. The sale begins in Gadsden at Noccalula Falls Park. Greater Gadsden Tourism Executive Director Hugh Stump says people from all over come to Gadsden for the sale. Stump also says the sale has had a great economic impact on the city, saying that nearly all of the hotels in the Gadsden area are completely booked. Keith and Wanda from Georgia plan to travel the yard sale route all the way to Kentucky. They say one of the best parts of the Yard Sale is meeting all the different kinds of people along the way. The Yard Sale began in 1987, and follows the scenic Lookout Mountain Parkway up to Chattanooga, and then on to Michigan on Highway 127. The sale began yesterday, and will continue until this Sunday.
