Woman Charged With Failure to Appear and Chemical Endangerment

A woman is behind bars after she admitted to using drugs while pregnant. Destiny Stipes, of Altoona, faces a felony charge of chemical endangerment of a child. According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Stipes was arrested after failing to appear on drug charges. At the detention center, she admitted to using methamphetamine and Suboxone even though she knew she was pregnant. Stipes is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
