City and County officials, along with banks and business owners gather in Talladega to learn about economic progress in the area. At the conference hosted by the JSU School of Business and Industry, speakers discussed various economic indicators for counties in the so-called Cheaha Economic Activity Zone. Saint Clair, Calhoun, Cleburne, Talladega, and Clay Counties are included in the zone. Director of the JSU Center of Economic Development Jennifer Green says looking at a region can be a better indicator of financial health than taking a local or state view. The exposition covered topics such as population growth and changes in personal income over the past ten years. JSU hosted the event at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park.
