Drivers heading into Oxford on Highway 431 can expect delays and lane closures as ALDOT installs an Advanced Warning System. ALDOT says it’s putting the Warning System on the southbound lanes approaching the intersection with Choccolocco Road and Coleman Road. A series of crashes have occurred at the intersection, some of them fatal. In July, a runaway truck crashed into several cars, killing one man. ALDOT says the warning system will consist of an overhead sign with beacons that flash when the light at the intersection turns red. Work on the system should be complete within four to six weeks.
