Finance Trade Lab Opens at JSU

Jacksonville State University unveils its new, state-of-the-art Finance Trade Lab. The room used to be used for storage, but now, the School of Business and Industry has transformed it into a simulated stock exchange. Students will have access to real-time stock price fluctuations in markets around the world. School of Business and Industry Dean Doctor Bill Scroggins says the Finance Lab gives students a better understanding of trading floors than lecture alone. The lab is modeled after the New York Stock Exchange, and includes a stock price ticker, a world clock, and more. The new lab is part of a series of renovations at the University’s Merrill Hall. 14 classrooms have been renovated in the past year, and new furniture and a stock ticker have been installed in the main foyer.
