Tuesday, August 22, 2017

The Cherokee County Commission is addressing the growing number of people in the area with mental and substance disorders.  It’s estimated that 7,000 people in Cherokee County are battling mental illness or substance abuse, and some are battling both at the same time. Next week, commission members plan to sign a proclamation declaring September as National Recovery Month in Cherokee County. After signing the proclamation, citizens are encouraged to support a recovery program in the community.
