A weekend car crash in Cherokee County claims the life of a missing Georgia woman. 75-year old Mary Helen Johnson of Adairsville, Georgia was killed when she drove her car through the intersection of the Chesnutt Bypass and West Main Street in Centre, slamming into several cars at Ray’s Auto Sales in the process. The accident occurred just after 6PM on Saturday. According to authorities in Gordon County, Georgia - Johnson suffered from dementia and had been reported missing from her home earlier in the day. Cherokee County Coroner Jeremy Deaton says that it appears Johnson suffered a medical episode just prior to the wreck. Centre police are still investigating.
